Description

A talk including a period of meditation and with time for questions.

Following in the footsteps of John Main, Fr Laurence, has been teaching the recovery of the contemplative wisdom tradition in the Church, and in society at large, for forty years. A Benedictine monk, he serves as the spiritual guide and Director of our World Community for Christian Meditation (WCCM). Before entering monastic life, he had experience with the United Nations, in banking and in journalism. As Director of Meditatio, the outreach program of WCCM, he engages with the secular world on the themes of Education, Mental Health, Business, Addiction and Recovery, Interfaith, and the Environment.

An international speaker and retreat leader and author of many books, his “Sensing God: Learning to Meditate during Lent” is especially recommended at this season. He now resides at the community’s international retreat centre, Bonnevaux, near Poitiers, France.

This event is for local WCCM meditators and group members. However, we hope you will invite friends interested in meditation to the afternoon event which follows.

Fr Laurence will give the second talk in the Cathedral at 2.15pm.

This talk, Sources of Wisdom in "A World Gone Mad", is open to the general public.
